I joined the Peace Corps as a single woman of the ripe old age of 32. I found the whole process of applying all the way through completing my service so fascinating, frustrating and frequently ridiculous. I have so many friends and relatives sending their kids to me with questions about my experience, the application process, safety, value of a Peace Corps experience and all of those types of questions, so I am writing a blog. I like to be humorous and blunt, so this is not a blog for vanilla-ice-cream-pollyanna types. I have a potty mouth and will tell it straight with alot of anecdotes. I changed most of the names so I could consolidate and also tell some third-party stories (ones where I wasn’t there but the source told me the whole (or)deal).
